4 days of Retreat

Since my last post .. it is another 10 days.
within the last ten days, the past 4 days was best time since my new job. Why? Cos i finally have 4 days of break

Friday 21 Mar 08
The annual Ching Ming Jie for my ah ma.
Woke up at 1030hrs and got ready to set off at 1300hrs. Was the first few to head to the cemetery while the rest caught up later. At the entrance of the cemtery, there was a few soliders on duty. they had to check the car boot of all vehicles. Wat they had with them was only a tentage with a raincoat. Poor boys, 都谢mas selamt 所赐，part of their NS memories will be with the CCK cemetery.But this certainly is step up security!

I became a Grandson son turned artist. Did some touch up on my ah ma's tomb ( those chinese characters)due to wear n tear. The rest of the family caught up later. Proceed on to mandai columbarium. Wah, this was really small compared to my ah ma " house " in CCK. In a Singapore context, Columbarium is the HDB while Grave is the "landed property". Ha. Of cos there is the usual offering and prayers to be done. Back to ah gong's house for some small gathering - As usual the chitty chatty stuff. My cousin got this cheese dips from a GV nachos supplier. Hm.. really decent dips that tasted yummy. Dinner was tao pao style buffet.

Sat 22 Mar 08.
Slept late till noon. Supposed to meet EY n gang at 1.30pm. But knowing their kuan, decided to laze a bit before setting off. Landed up leaving home at 1.30pm instead! ha! Even so i was not the latest. EY without fail, turn out to be the last one. Had food at this Chinese restuarant in Bugis junction level 2. Mouth watering Fried Rice and hot steaming xiao long bao. Worth it. Left at 8.30pm. proceed to JP and bought some snacks for family.

Sunday 23 Mar 08
Marketing on sunday is a must to my favourite market. Got nasi lemak instead of the mee kia this time round. Could be since 3 months since i tried the nasi lemak. Still so good, still so tempting. At night was my first visit to Palm Beach seafood.

Wah cau. Trust me. Dont go there if possible. Food is freaking ex. 3person. 5 dishes for $100+. A miserable plate of achar(those appetiser before your meal is served)chargeable at $2. 10 pieces of oversized ikan billis cost $3. Chili crab was still ok at $38. Salted Fried rice was at $12 with less than 1% of salted fish. Hofan at $8 with less than 5 slices of fish. Only comforting item was the desert at $3.80- unique concoction of mango, pomelo, tadpole jelly etc.

Not much activity to bost about but manage to catch my favourite show. Just in Singapore.

This marks the end of my 4 beautiful days. Tomolo will be shit again.
